Kay Frances Rau, who was born on November 27, 1943 to Frank and Edna Paetznick in Yakima, WA, passed away on June 26, 2026, in Los Angeles, CA, leaving behind a life marked by services, friendship, & deep affection for the people & animals she loved.

Kay served proudly in the United States Air Force for three years, a chapter of her life that reflected her sense of duty, discipline & resilience.

In 9180, Kay moved to Simi Valley from Texas, beginning a new chapter that would become home for the rest of her life. She spent 10 years as the manager of an apartment complex where she was known for her reliability, professionalism, and the respect she showed others.

Kay will be remembered for her service to her country, her dedication to her work, her love of friendship, and her deep affection for the dogs she adored.

Memorial services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, 280 Royal Ave, Simi Valley, on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:30am with a reception to follow.
