Edna Frances Jennings passed away peacefully in her sleep, Wednesday morning June 3, 2026.

Edna was born to Edward (Ned) and Mary Power in Boston, Massachusetts on September 29, 1943, and was the third of seven children: Annie-Marie, Elaine, Kathy, Steve, Marty and Joe. She loved her family and friends and loved growing up in the Dorchester neighborhood of the city. She also excelled in work and was part of Gillette Corporate Office in Boston throughout the 1960s.

Edna married her husband Richard (Dick) Jennings, Sr in Boston in 1970 and had three children: Richard (Rick) Jr, Brian and Stephen. Dick was in the airline industry, so they moved several times throughout the late 70's. Their travels took the family to such exotic locations like Texas and Minnesota before settling in sunny Southern California in 1981.

And although she moved, Edna's love for the city of Boston never wavered. She could be seen and heard cheering for her beloved New England Patriots throughout the fall, the Celtics and Bruins in the winter and the Red Sox in the spring and summer. Edna was also a devout Roman Catholic and found spiritual guidance from the church, especially from her late friend Monsignor Joe Cosgrove.

Edna excelled at many roles and was an incredible mother, wife and employee. But the role she thrived at was as a grandmother to her four grandchildren. She took to the role as grandmother with ease and was a loving presence in their lives.

Edna is survived by her husband Dick, her sons Rick and Stephen, her daughters-in-law Tally and Carolyn, her grandchildren Katie, Ava, Eddie and Luke, her sister Elaine and her brothers Steve, Marty and Joe.

Services will be held on Friday, June 19 at 10am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 13955 Peach Hill Rd, Moorpark, CA.
